From my ~ She Pad
Life has thrown me more than a few curveballs, but somehow I still try to find the beautiful things in it. Sometimes that's as simple as finding baby bunnies hiding in my potato patch and trying to keep them safe from my man-eating... okay, bunny-eating dog, who thinks they're an afternoon snack.
Then there are the honey bees. We suit up, steal their honey, which they're not exactly thrilled about, and then they chase us across the yard. But hey... we still got the honey! Thank goodness for my EpiPen! (Laugh.)
Most days I'm a bit of a tomboy. I'll haul mulch, dig in the garden, and get my hands dirty... all while wondering if I'm going to break a nail. But put me at the sandbar and let me step on a horseshoe crab, and suddenly I'm screaming like a little girl while everyone around me is laughing... including me.
Some days you'll find me in the garden. Other days you'll find me in the kitchen trying a new recipe and hoping everyone actually likes it. Lately I've been teaching myself how to make homemade soap, and let's just say every batch is made while hoping I don't accidentally blow the house up with the lye. So far... so good!
And then there are those days when I just plop my fat butt on the couch because I have absolutely zero energy. Those days happen too, and I've learned that's okay.
Life isn't perfect, and neither am I. But I've found there's always something to laugh about, something new to learn, and something worth sharing. So if you enjoy gardening, cooking, canning, homemade soap, funny stories, a little bit of chaos, and laughing at life's unexpected moments... I think you'll fit right in.
So welcome to our little corner of the world. We're really glad you're here.
She Pad Adventures by Dawn

When the Tide Says No… Go Pick Peaches
When the tide ruins your boating plans, there’s really only one sensible thing to do: sit in horrible traffic, become a professional peach inspector, and come home $115 poorer with 50 pounds of fruit. Dawn discovers that sometimes Plan B makes the better story... even if you have absolutely no idea what you're going to do with all those peaches.

Soap… What Was I Thinking?
Armed with books, YouTube tutorials, enough supplies to bury her dining room table, and a healthy fear of accidentally blowing up the kitchen, Dawn tackles her very first batch of homemade soap. Everything goes surprisingly well... until she realizes she remembered absolutely everything except the one thing that makes soap smell good.

The Great Honey Heist
What started as a dream of backyard chickens somehow turned into thousands of bees, a dog who refuses to stop eating them, and one very sticky honey harvest. Join Dawn and Ken for a beekeeping adventure involving five stings, an enthusiastic escape, and two pints of liquid gold that definitely did NOT make it into the jars.

Sometimes Healing Looks Like A Potato Patch
A potato patch, a new soap-making adventure, a few lessons learned the hard way, and one very unexpected nest of baby bunnies. Dawn shares how ordinary moments have a way of reminding us that healing doesn’t always look the way we expect. Sometimes, it’s growing quietly right under our feet.
